I’m exploring forums as part of my broader outreach and visibility efforts, but I’m trying to keep everything clean and community-friendly. The issue is that many forums are strict: some remove links automatically, some only allow links after you’ve built trust, and others convert links into non-clickable text.

The safest mindset is to treat forum posting backlinks as a side effect of being helpful, not the goal. If you’re solving the problem in the reply (steps, reasoning, and pitfalls), the link becomes an optional “extra reading” reference. That makes it much easier for moderators and regular users to interpret your intent positively.
